The location of the hotel was excellent, just a short walk from the center of Chester. the check-in process was smooth and the car park nearby felt safe. the beds were comfortable and a basic breakfast was provided. However, the hotel itself was a bit tired and could use some upgrading if it aims to reach a 5-star level. the hob in the kitchen did not work, which may be a disappointment for guests who want to cook their own meals. the breakfast selection was lacking, with no milk provided despite having cereal and coffee available. On the positive side, the communication from Kate, the host, was always good and the property was well-kept and tidy. My wife was impressed with the thoughtful addition of a hairdryer and straighteners in the bedroom. Overall, the hotel was suitable for our family event and the central location was perfect. I would recommend bringing your own toiletries, as these were not provided. the lack of amenities like shampoo and conditioner was a downside, but easily remedied by a nearby store. the beds were comfortable and the towels soft, making for a pleasant stay.
